About the Property

Twin Locust Farm is a Catholic-owned 75-acre property nestled into the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, only a few hundred yards from Shenandoah National Park.  The property includes a stream, a catch-and-release fish pond, miles of private hiking trails, a mountain with about 1,000ft of elevation gain, a horse barn, and the 1938 main house.  

 

Visit, and enter into a sacred rhythm of peace.

 

About the Farmhouse

Originally built in approx. 1880, and expanded to 1,600 sq ft. in 1938, this quirky farmhouse has been lovingly preserved.  

Although completely renovated, the house retains its character with original chestnut floors, a copper roof, and a woodburning stove.

Additional small cabins will be built at a future date.  In the meanwhile, tent camping is possible at several sites around the property.

Twin Locust Farm is a private 75-acre retreat nestled in the northwest corner of Albemarle County, Virginia, just outside the tiny town of Free Union.​

Beautiful Views: Shenandoah National Park is visible from the property, with Swift Run Gap just 35 minutes away.

Hiking: Trails weave through woods rich in native Black Locust and Honey Locust trees—species used for homes in colonial Jamestown.

Fishing: The catch-and-release pond is stocked with catfish, bass, and bream—perfect for peaceful reflection or playful fishing.

Camping: There are plenty of great camping spots for those who desire to embrace nature to the fullest.

Off-the-Grid Freedom

Aside from a few dogs barking, and the occasional car, you won't hear much but the natural sounds of God's creation.

There is no cell service within about 20 minutes of the property, so you can truly disconnect.
